Selflessness is the quality that makes us want to help other people—to be there for them—no matter what the cost for ourselves.

People who are selfless may look like they're doing more than their fair share of work to benefit others, even though they're actually doing far less than they could. The point here is that there are lots of ways to be a kind and caring person. You don't have to be good at everything!
